For nearly two decades, Julia has helped some of America’s most iconic brands change, morph and evolve to become highly relevant and more meaningful to their most important customers.
As a brand and business strategist, Julia has worked in partnership with some of the most talented CEOs, business leaders, marketers and agency professionals across the country for brands such as the Walt Disney Company, Phillips 66, UnitedHealthcare, Panda Express, Cuties Clementines, Union Pacific and many more.
Under her leadership, the agency was recognized as the Ad Age National Small Agency of the Year and a Top 5 Most Effective Independent Agency according to the Effie Effectiveness Index. As the Executive Vice President/Chief Marketing Officer, Julia secured more than $30MM of new client revenue in three years, added the largest client in the agency’s history and shattered her year one revenue goal by 2.5x, resulting in 20% growth for the agency. The agency routinely competed—and won—against major agency players including BBDO, Goodby Silverstein & Partners, GSD&M and Leo Burnett. As a result, Julia was named to the agency’s Board of Directors—and was only the third woman to occupy a board seat in the agency’s 50-year history. The outcome she’s most proud of? Delivering record returns to employee shareholders.
Following a 10-year career in the agency business, she transitioned into the automotive industry as the Chief Marketing Officer for a $2B, 21-rooftop, Midwest-based automotive retail group. Here, Julia worked on behalf of brands like Toyota, Lexus, Subaru, Honda and in partnership with some of the best agencies in the world such as Team One and Saatchi & Saatchi. Her integrated brand, media and operational strategy drove a 20% increase in sales, and as a result, the company experienced record profits and record revenues. When Julia arrived, the company was spending more than $700 per-car-sold. After deploying her prescribed approach, that same measure was $78.
Julia is currently serving as the Vice President of Growth Marketing at Bellevue University, a leading online university with a student population primarily comprised of working adults. Bellevue University has emerged as the leading learning provider for working learners across the country with robust partnerships with 130+ brands such as Walmart, Disney, Chipotle and Truist.
